I worked on this for over 2 months as part of the class work from Qisheng Luo. Again, he's awesome. Take his class, people!

Based on artwork from YEONJUN PARK https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oOx56w. The artwork has been sitting in my collection for more than a year. Finally got a chance to finish it!

Started from a cube and sculpted the whole thing out. Gained a much better understanding on female anatomy and improved on creating shapes and forms, among many other things.

For the body texture I used ZWrap to transfer texture and displacement from a human scan. The result is not as high res as manual projection but I am pretty happy with it. Face displacement was created manually in Substance Painter by using the built-in skin material and some tillable skin textures. Personally I think this approach provides much better control and more efficient than manually projection in Mari.

Also tried out Nuke for the first time. Amazing node based tool that processes the renders in non-destructive way. The best part is that it can process all the frames using the same node graph in one run, doing color adjustment and lens blur and all.

Had some fun sculpting a cat from a children's book series ノラネコぐんだん my daughter likes. Later I realized it's too tiny to be seen in renders. Allow me to zoom in for you guys so time is not wasted haha

Used Nuke for composition. It's so much better and faster than using Photoshop!
